President Cassidy has promoted opportunities for fun, 连接, and celebration of both individual and collective accomplishments. From surprise “Pop Up” events, to community dinners with the President, to acknowledging student contributions in the annual Community Building Honor Roll, President Cassidy has acted on her aspiration to “inject creativity and joy into what we do, to counter the pressures of perfectionism, to help our students’ intellects and imaginations flourish, and to let excitement and discovery thrive . . . .”

Advancing Inclusive Excellence

The Advancing Inclusive Excellence series brings national leaders to campus to share their wisdom and lessons learned with the Bryn Mawr Community. The inaugural event featured STEM higher education experts Dr. Freeman Hrabowski and Dr. Tuajuanda乔丹. The pair shared their stories with a packed house of students, 教师, 和工作人员 in Old 图书馆's Great Hall on March 21, 2023.

Finals Week Late-Night Ice Cream Truck

咖啡时间

Monthly coffee hours are a way for the community to come together informally and get to know each other. In addition to providing tasty pastries and much-needed caffeinated beverages, these events often serve as a time for recognizing staff, updating the community on the latest initiatives, 和更多的. 社区晚餐

Held several times a semester, these informal occasions allow for conversation and 连接 among students, 教师, 和工作人员. Everyone is invited to attend and there's no agenda—simply a chance to get to know others, to make new 连接s, and to enjoy conversation and good food. A series of dinners for members of the senior class also take place at the end of the spring semester.

Community Building Honor Roll

The Honor Roll concept emerged in 2017 from conversations with student affinity group leaders who asked the College to consider a way to bring positive attention to those students who invest time and energy to create a sense of belonging, inclusiveness and community on campus. Recipients are recognized at a luncheon ceremony each year.

Endowed Chair Lecture Series

Launched by former president Nancy Vickers, the 总统办公室 sponsors lectures each academic year by individual 教师 who receive an endowed chair. Open to campus and others, these events recognize the scholarship of these 教师 members and allow the community to help celebrate their work.
